The next player on West Brom’s conveyor belt of promising youth talent to sign a new long-term deal at the club is goalkeeper Josh Griffiths.
He’s only just returned from England U20 duty but has extended his stay at the Hawthorns for another four years.
The 18-year-old was part of the first-team setup during pre-season, training with both Sam Johnstone and Jonathan Bond, and has clearly made a mark on the Baggies fanbase and hierarchy alike.
Sporting and technical director Luke Dowling mentioned the impact he has had at the club when discussing his new deal, he said:
“When you hear Dwight Gayle complaining he can never beat him and Jake Livermore checking on whether we have got him tied down on a contract, you know you’ve got a talent on your hands.”

Several supporters echoed these thoughts on social media following the news.
One claimed he is the future number one at the club whilst another added that the youngster had made an excellent choice in staying long-term.
At a towering 6 foot 6, he would be the tallest member of the Albion goalkeeping department, but he is yet to feature in a senior appearance for the club.
Several other words were used to describe the extension, including ‘brilliant’ and ‘fantastic.’
