Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent has informed Rangers he would like to move to the club on a permanent basis, according to The Daily Record.
What’s the word?
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have enjoyed a fine rise this season and enter the international break on a high after inflicting a first defeat of the season upon league leaders Hearts at the weekend, where Ryan Kent opened the scoring.
The Liverpool loanee has impressed since moving north of the border from Anfield during the summer and is not quoted by The Daily Record as revealing he would like to move to Ibrox on a permanent basis, although he won’t be cheap.
Tied down by the Reds until 2022, the report states Rangers will need to offer at least £2m to persuade Jurgen Klopp’s side to sell the 21-year-old despite the fact he is yet to feature in a competitive game for the Merseyside giants.
What was said?
“It’s something I’d consider. Definitely. The fans are amazing here. The club has a lot of history. It’s an amazing club but it’s a conversation they will have to have with Liverpool – not me.
“The fans seem to really enjoy players getting forward and that suits my identity as a footballer. I really enjoy picking the ball up, dribbling at defenders and getting past them. When the fans are right behind me, it gives me confidence to do that.”
Should Rangers move?
Now 21 and yet to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans, the former England U20 international needs to have a long think about what path he wants to take in his career and moving to Rangers permanently seems the best option.

Kent has already accumulated a total of 15 goals across the SPL and Europa League, scoring two goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as a key part of Steven Gerrard’s side – and he would be an excellent addition.
By providing Kent with the first-team football he craves, Rangers can develop the attacking ace into a top-class player and one they could earn a significant fee for further down the line if he continues with his impressive displays.
