Manchester United are considering a January move to lure Alex Song back to the Premier League, according to reports from The Express.
The Cameroonian international only left Arsenal for the Nou Camp last summer, but has endured a tough spell with the Spanish giants.
With a number of world class midfielders at the club, Song has struggled to hold down a spot in the first-team.
This has alerted David Moyes, who is known to be in the market for midfield reinforcements.
The Scot swooped for Maroune Fellaini on deadline day, but is keen to add a deep-lying playmaker to his squad.
The former Gunners star impressed in a similar role at the Emirates Stadium, and Moyes believes that he could help his side to defend their Premier League crown.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a return to Arsenal, while Tottenham are also rumoured to be keen.
United failed with a move for Barca’s Cesc Fabregas prior to the close of the transfer window, however they are more confident of luring Song to Old Trafford.
Moyes is also monitoring another La Liga star in the shape of Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.
The midfielder was linked with a deadline day move to United.
