This was mostly due to his fitness problems that he carried over from 2017/18 when he suffered two injuries that sidelined him for a total of 26 games.
But apart from that, a late setback he suffered in April, damaging his knee again, saw him miss out on the African Cup of Nations and the remainder of the Premier League campaign.

Now, he has taken to Instagram to celebrate his return to training with the squad and of course, it was met with a lot of excited replies from his teammates and friends.
David De Gea and Marcus Rashford were among the first Red Devils who responded to Bailly, welcoming the big man back but also finding time to joke around a bit.
Juan Mata even called him “the rock”, emphasising how strong and durable he is while Serge Aurier just posted a series of emojis to show his support.
