Newcastle United could be in for a very busy summer depending on how their season ends.
Rafael Benitez’s future has been a talking point throughout the campaign, particularly after underwhelming transfer windows.
There is every chance that the North-East outfit will be back in the Championship next season as they currently sit 15th in the table, two points adrift of the relegation zone.
Many connected with the club would have hoped that a recent 1-0 victory over Manchester United would propel them into a positive run of form.
However, at the weekend, the team relinquished a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The Magpies have picked up just seven wins in 28 top-flight matches this season.
Despite the club’s current league position, it seems that Benitez is more concerned with how his team are playing on the pitch.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Real Madrid boss said:
“The main thing for me is not just where you are in the table. You have to realise where you are but it’s to be sure that the team continue fighting, playing well and with the belief that we can win, that we can get points anywhere.”
Newcastle will face Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in their next three league games.
