Mention the name Tony Hibbert to any Everton supporter and they will crack a warm smile.
Hibbert made 329 appearances for the Toffees between 1998 and 2016, and ended his career having failed to score a single goal.
The defender only made 12 Premier League appearances in his final four seasons before retirement, but will forever be remembered as a legend by the club’s supporters.
Not one for flash watches or nightclub appearances, Hibbert was not one of those that would be pictured in the streets of Liverpool at 4am on a Sunday morning.
He was a true professional in every sense of the word, and actually spent 26 years with Everton when considering that he joined the club’s youth system back in 1990.
Hibbert turned 37 on Tuesday, and as expected, Everton’s official Twitter page was on hand to post a message to the Liverpool-born defender.
