Fringe Everton winger Nikola Vlasic scored twice for the Croatia Under-21 side as they beat their Moldovan counterparts 4-0 in a European U21 qualifier on Tuesday, and Toffees fans were quick to react to his display.
The 20-year-old was heavily involved for the Merseyside outfit earlier in the campaign having moved to Goodison Park from Hadjuk Split last summer, scoring five goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.
The attacker’s outings in the Premier League were more limited though, and since he started the 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion on January 20 – in which he was hauled off at half-time – he hasn’t made a single matchday squad in the top flight since, with the Goodison Park faithful criticising Sam Allardyce for not playing him more.
Everton supporters took to social media to have their say on Vlasic shining on the international stage, and while one described him as a “good player who is being overlooked by Everton”, another joked “who’s he play for?”
